USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Air Force baseball placed three players on the College Sports Madness All-Mountain West team, announced today. Seniors Garrett Custons and Alex Bast and junior Seth Kline were named to the Madness All-MW teams.
Custons, a two-time All-MW selection at catcher was named to the first team at utility. As a junior last season, Custons batted .316 with four home runs and 20 RBIs. The Sarasota, Fla., was one of the top defensive catchers in the nation, throwing out 66.7 percent of steal attempts (20-of-30) last year.
Bast, the team’s MVP as a sophomore in 2010, earned second team honors as an outfielder. As a junior, Bast batted .305 with four homers, leading the team with five triples and 31 RBIs. Kline, who was named to the second team as an infielder, was an All-MW performer last season. As a sophomore, Kline led the Falcons with five homers and a .322 batting average.
Air Force baseball opens the 2013 season Feb. 15 at UTSA.
