SALT LAKE CITY - Kole Calhoun snapped a 4-4 tie with a two-out RBI single in the eighth inning to help the Salt Lake Bees edge the Colorado Springs Sky Sox 5-4 on Sunday afternoon.

The Bees trailed by one in the seventh when Hank Conger singled to center and advanced to second on a passed ball. With two outs, Conger scored the tying run on a single to left by Ed Lucas. Trevor Crowe led off the eighth with a single and was sacrificed to second by Andrew Romine. With two outs, Calhoun drilled a 3-2 pitch from Zach Putnam into center to bring home Crowe with the eventual winning run.

Bobby Cassevah (4-1) retired all four batters he faced to pick up the win. In the ninth, Steven Geltz gave up a one out single to Brandon Roberts, but got Wilkin Castillo to ground into a game-ending 6-4-3 double play to earn his fourth save of the season. Calhoun led the Bees with two hits and three runs batted in.

"The guys are playing for themselves and you can't speak to how far that goes in the clubhouse," said Bees Manager Keith Johnson. "We're trying our best to play good baseball so the guys that get the opportunity to go to the big leagues are able to contribute if they're called upon. The guys that aren't, hopefully will be playing some meaningful baseball all the way to the end (of the season)."
