Why The Video Looks Shaky (Don Ward)
Updated: 06/18/2013 - We did a quick helicopter tour of the Black Forest burn area. Someone asked why the video looks shaky.
Colorado Springs rallied to score six runs in the sixth inning to overtake the Bees and go on to beat Salt Lake 12-5 on Monday night. The Bees scored five runs in the fourth to take a 5-4 lead, but the Sky Sox tied the game in the sixth on an RBI single by Omir Santos and took a 6-5 lead on a run scoring single to center by Tim Wheeler. Later in the inning with the bases loaded, Salt Lake reliever Adam Russell hit Brendan Harris to force in a run and then David Carpenter walked Chad Tracy on four pitches to bring home another. Charlie Culberson capped off the inning for the Sky Sox with a two run single.
“We made a few mistakes, and (Colorado Springs) capitalized. That team over there, they are a good hitting ball club, and when we make a mistake regardless of how small it is, they take advantage of it," stated Bees manager Keith Johnson. "They did a good job tonight and hit the ball in places where they were able to score guys from second base. So hats off to them but we have to get back out there tomorrow.”
Greg Smith (8-9) took the loss, as he went five and one-third innings and allowed eight runs on ten hits and had his scoreless streak snapped a seventeen and one-third innings. In that five run fourth inning, Ryan Langerhans tied the game for the Bees with a two run triple and then scored the go ahead run on a bunt single by Matt Long, who led Salt Lake with two hits and one run batted in.
