Colorado Springs, CO – The Semper Fi Fund (SFF) will be sending 17 team members from Team Semper Fi (TSF) to take part in the 2nd Annual Drive for Heroes Golf Classic in Colorado Springs on July 19, 2013. These Service Members have all been injured in their service to our country and during the months preceding this event, they have been hitting their local golf courses and ranges to prepare themselves for the competition. Their practice will be put to the test as the competition is fierce and they will be playing on one of the most challenging and scenic golf courses in the state of Colorado. Following the tournament, there will be lunch with an awards ceremony along with live and silent auctions.
There are still sponsorships and golf slots available. Please contact Casey Fisher (above) for more event info.

The Semper Fi Fund has given more than 59,000 financial grants totaling more than $76,000,000 to our service members and their families.
About the Semper Fi Fund: SFF is a nonprofit organization that provides financial assistance and quality of life solutions to Marines and Sailors, as well as members of the Army, Air Force and Coast Guard who serve in support of Marine forces, when they become injured in post 9-11 combat or training operations, or face life threatening illness or injury. Our fund provides relief to qualified service members and their families for immediate financial needs that arise during hospitalization and recovery, as well as perpetuating needs such as home modifications, customized transportation and specialized equipment.
SFF was founded by Karen Guenther, a registered nurse and spouse of an active duty Marine, who had first-hand knowledge of the challenges faced by wounded Marines and Sailors returning from Iraq and Afghanistan. She, along with a dedicated group of military spouses established Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund in May of 2004.
About Team Semper Fi: Made up of more than 500 service members who qualify for our assistance, Team Semper Fi is the heart and inspiration of the Semper Fi Fund's rehabilitative Athletic Program, and is an extension of the assistance we provide. The team is made up of servicemen and women who have overcome significant challenges in their service to our country, and have embraced the fighting, athletic spirit on their road to recovery. They are an inspiration to us all, but more importantly, they are an inspiration to their fellow service members who are also recovering.
The Semper Fi Fund provides the team with coaches, specialized sporting equipment, entry fees, and travel expenses to athletic events. TSF members are also given the opportunity to receive high-level training from former and current Olympic and Paralympic through the US Paralympics.
