COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Ian Rewoldt was named Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the second time in his career after leading Colorado College to a pair of victories over Centenary College last weekend.
Rewoldt averaged 17 points, 12.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game to help the Tigers claim a share of first place atop the conference standings.
The senior forward scored 13 points and grabbed seven rebounds poured during Friday’s 65-61 triumph over the Gents. He made five of nine shots from the floor as CC overcame an 11-point first-half deficit to win its fourth game in a row.
In the final home game of his career, Rewoldt posted career highs of 21 points and 18 rebounds to fuel Saturday’s 88-79 victory. It was his third double-double of the season and the ninth of his career.
With the two performances, Rewoldt climbed to No. 12 and No. 47 on the school’s all-time charts, respectively, with 518 rebounds and 644 points. He also is 23rd with 133 career assists.
The Huxley, Iowa, product leads the SCAC in total rebounds (144) and rebounds per game (8.5). He also ranks 10th in scoring (9.3) and is tied for 11th in assists (1.8).
CC can clinch a share of first place with a victory at Trinity University on Friday night. The Tigers close out the regular season at Southwestern University on Sunday.
