Rockies end Cactus League game with Angels in a tie

On Saturday afternoon at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick, the Colorado Rockies (8-10-2) and the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim (8-8-2) played to a 4-4 tie…it was the second-straight game the Rockies played 10 innings and ended in a tie…Carlos Gonzalez’s two-run home run in the first inning began the scoring for both teams…the Angels responded with one run in the second inning…starting pitcher Juan Nicasio helped his own cause with a RBI single in the fourth that brought home Josh Rutledge, who singled and stole second…the Angels took a 4-3 lead in the fifth after they plated three runs…in the bottom of the ninth, Cristhian Adames reached base on a two-out walk and the next batter, Drew Stubbs tied the game up with a double off the right field wall…Stubbs went 2-for-4 with two doubles, a RBI, run and a walk…Adam Ottavino pitched two scoreless, no-hit innings…Tommy Kahnle, Greg Burke, and Yohan Flande also pitched a scoreless inning…the Rockies visit Camelback Ranch in Glendale tomorrow afternoon to play the Los Angeles Dodgers at 2:05 p.m. MDT.
