Rockies drop Cactus League game against the Giants

The Colorado Rockies (1-5) fell to the San Francisco Giants (3-3) at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick, 3-2…the Giants opened the scoring with a two-run fourth inning…the Rockies answered in the sixth as Ryan Wheeler’s two-out double drove in Brandon Barnes from first…the Giants added another run in the seventh…in the ninth, Jason Pridie scored Ben Paulsen - who had a pinch-hit single - via a single to left field to complete the scoreline…Juan Nicasio started and pitched three shutout innings allowing two hits and striking out four (three looking)…Matt Belisle pitched a scoreless fifth inning…Pedro Hernandez pitched the eighth and ninth without surrendering a run…the Rockies play split-squad games at the Chicago Cubs and Texas Rangers tomorrow, both at 1:05 p.m. MST.
