DENVER – The Colorado Rockies announced today that the club selected the contract of outfielder Corey Dickerson from Triple-A Colorado Springs. To make room for Dickerson, the Rockies have designated right-handed pitcher Logan Kensing for assignment. Dickerson (#6) will be in uniform for tonight’s Rockies at Nationals game at National Park (5:05 p.m. MDT).

Dickerson, 24, has spent the entire season at Triple-A Colorado Springs where he has batted .386 (107-for-277) with 19 doubles, 13 triples, 9 home runs, 38 RBI, 56 runs and a 1.075 OPS (.429 OBP, .646 SLG). Dickerson is batting .583 (21-for-36) with 3 doubles, 1 triple, 1 home run, 9 RBI and 12 runs in his last 10 games with the Sky Sox and has reached base safely in 23-straight games. Dickerson is leading the Pacific Coast League in batting average, OPS, total bases (179) and triples. Dickerson, 6-foot-1 and 205 pounds, was a non-roster invitee to Major League Spring Training in 2013 and would go on to win the Abby Greer Award as the Rockies Spring Training MVP. He was originally selected by Colorado in the 8th round of the 2010 First-Year Player Draft out of Meridian Community College in Mississippi.

Kensing, 30, was added to the Rockies roster on June 16th and appeared in one game (Wednesday) for the Rockies, tossing a scoreless 0.2 of an inning at Toronto. 2013 marks the first time Kensing has pitched in the Majors since 2009. In 135 career Major League games, Kensing is 8-9 with a 5.79 ERA (161.2 ip, 104 er), 89 BB, 144 SO with Florida (2004-09) Washington (2009) and Colorado (2013). Prior to being added to the Rockies roster, Kensing spent the season at Triple-A Colorado Springs where he went 0-1 with a 2.57 ERA (21.0 ip, 6 er) in 19 games.

The Rockies currently have a full 40-man roster.
