ROCKIES RECALL RHP ROB SCAHILL, INF/OF KYLE PARKER FROM TRIPLE-A, ACTIVATE RHP TOMMY KAHNLE FROM 15-DAY DL

DENVER – The Colorado Rockies announced today that the club has recalled right-handed pitcher Rob Scahill and infielder/outfielder Kyle Parker from Triple-A Colorado Springs. Additionally, the Rockies have activated right-handed pitcher Tommy Kahnle from the 15-day disabled list. All three players will be available for tonight’s Rockies vs. Giants game at Coors Field (6:40 p.m. MDT).

Scahill, 27, is being recalled for the third time this season and returns to a 1-0 record with a 5.68 ERA (6.1 ip, 4 er) in four games this season with the Rockies. He has spent the majority of 2014 at Triple-A Colorado Springs, where in 33 games this season he went 2-0 with a 4.47 ERA (48.1 ip, 24 er). Scahill has spent parts of three seasons in the Majors with the Rockies, and owns a career Major League record of 2-0 with a 4.47 ERA (48.1 ip, 24 er) in 33 games. Scahill was originally selected by Colorado in the 8th round of the 2009 First-Year Player Draft out of Bradley University.

Parker, 25, is also being recalled for the third time this season. Parker made his Major League debut earlier this season, and in five games he is 1-for-9 at the plate. He has spent the balance of 2014 at Triple-A Colorado Springs, where in 128 games he hit .289 (145-for-502) with 30 doubles, 3 triples, 15 home runs, 72 RBI and 73 runs scored. Parker was originally selected by the Rockies in the first round of the 2010 First-Year Player Draft out of Clemson University.

Kahnle, 25, missed 25 games while on the disabled list with right shoulder inflammation. The Rockies selected Kahnle in the first round of the Major League phase of the Rule 5 Draft from the New York Yankees. In 47 games for the Rockies this season, Kahnle has gone 2-1 with a 3.43 ERA (63.0 ip, 24 er), 29 walks and 56 strikeouts. Opponents have hit just .190 against the right-hander this season. He was originally selected by the Yankees in the fifth round of the 2010 First-Year Player Draft out of Lynn University (FL).

The Rockies currently have a full 40-man roster.
