DENVER – The Colorado Rockies announced today that the club has activated right-handed pitcher Christian Bergman from the 60-day disabled list. In addition, the club has placed outfielder Michael Cuddyer on the 15-day disabled list and transferred outfielder Carlos Gonzalez to the 60-day disabled list. Bergman (#36) is scheduled to start today’s game against the Miami Marlins at Coors Field (2:10 p.m. MT).

Bergman, 26, has missed 51 games while recovering from a fractured left hand that occurred on June 20 against Milwaukee. In working his way back, Bergman made five rehab appearances between Double-A Tulsa and Triple-A Colorado Springs going a combined 1-2 with a 4.79 ERA (26.1 ip, 14 er). He made his MLB debut on June 9th vs. Atlanta and started three games prior to the injury. In those three games he went 0-2 with a 7.20 ERA (15.0 ip, 12 er). The Rockies 24th round pick of the 2010 Draft is 36-25 with a 3.60 ERA (554.1 ip, 222 er), 541 hits, 96 walks and 385 strikeouts in 95 career Minor League games/86 starts.

Cuddyer, 35, is being placed on the disabled list (left hamstring strain) for the third time this season. In 34 games this year, he has hit .331 (43-for-130) with 8 doubles, 1 triple, 6 home runs, 19 RBI and 20 runs. On August 17 against Cincinnati (Game 2), Cuddyer went 4-for-5 with a double, triple, home run, 3 RBI and 3 runs to become the 7th Rockie to hit for the cycle and just the 3rd player in Major League history to hit for the cycle in each of the NL and AL, joining John Olerud and Bob Watson. His other cycle came on May 22, 2009 against Milwaukee when he was with Minnesota. The Norfolk, VA native has played in 1,404 career games hitting .278 (1404-for-5049) with 308 doubles, 41 triples, 183 home runs, 741 RBI and 752 runs.

Gonzalez, 28, in 70 games this year batted .238 (62-for-260) with 15 doubles, 1 triple, 11 home runs, 38 RBI and 35 runs. This is Gonzalez’s seventh Major League season, six with Colorado (2009-2014) and one with Oakland (2008). In 761 career Major League games he is batting .294 (828-for-2817) with 166 doubles, 32 triples, 136 home runs, 457 RBI and 483 runs.
