COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Fiver years ago Travis Tollett broke his neck when he crashed during the Gold Camp Hill Climb in Victor, Colorado.
At the time, many thought he would never race again. Afterall, he was now a quadriplegic.
But in 2009, Travis made Pikes Peak Hill Climb history when he became the first quadriplegic to compete in the race. He did so as a co-driver.
But this year, he's back behind the wheel again. Equiped with a special car custom made for him, Travis will drive in a race for the first time since his tragic accident five years ago.
He told 11 Sports at Thursday's practice that driving once again is one of the most exhilerating experiences of his life.
Click the video above to hear some of Travis' interview with 11 Sports.
