WACO, Texas & INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - CSU-Pueblo remained at #1 in the nation for the fourth straight week after its RMAC-clinching 31-17 win over New Mexico Highlands Saturday.
It also regained the mantle of the #1-ranked team in its Super Region after momentarily falling to #2 for one week behind Ashland University.
The ThunderWolves, now at 10-0 and 8-0 in RMAC play, wrapped up its second straight RMAC championship and third in school history when it clinched at least a share of the title. It could win the championship outright as well as turn in its second straight 11-0 regular season with a win over Western State Saturday.
With its #1 ranking, the ThunderWolves become the first RMAC team sport (which includes football, soccer, basketball, volleyball, softball and baseball) to be ranked tops in the country for four straight weeks since Colorado School of Mines did so in men's soccer in 2011.
