DENVER, Feb. 20, 2014 – The Denver Nuggets have acquired forward Jan Vesely from the Washington Wizards as part of a three-team trade, Nuggets General Manger/Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations Tim Connelly announced today.
Denver sent point guard Andre Miller to Washington, while the Wizards traded guard Eric Maynor to the Philadelphia 76ers. Philadelphia also received a future second-round draft pick from both the Nuggets and Wizards.
Vesley, 6-11, 242, was the sixth overall pick of the 2011 NBA Draft after playing for three seasons with Partizan Belgrade. In 2011, the 23-year-old was named the FIBA Young Men’s Player of the Year given to the top European player born in 1990 or later.
In two-plus NBA seasons, he has averaged 3.5 points and 3.4 rebounds in 15.2 minutes.
