ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The National Football League on Wednesday announced the Denver Broncos’ 2014 preseason schedule, which features home games against the Seattle Seahawks and Houston Texans at Sports Authority Field at Mile High along with road contests against the San Francisco 49ers and Dallas Cowboys.
The Broncos open their preseason at home for the first time since 1997 when they play their Super Bowl XLVIII opponent, the Seattle Seahawks, at Sports Authority Field at Mile High in Week 1 (Aug. 7-10). Denver then travels to Santa Clara, Calif., to play the 49ers in their first game at their new venue, Levi’s Stadium, in Week 2 (Aug. 14-18).
After a home contest against the Texans in Week 3 (Aug. 21-24), the Broncos conclude the preseason at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, against the Cowboys on Thursday, Aug. 28.
Denver owns a 129-116 (.527) all-time record in the preseason and has registered at least a .500 record in the preseason during 16 of the last 18 seasons. Last year, Denver finished with a 2-2 preseason record.
For the 45th consecutive year, 850 KOA will broadcast all Broncos games as the team’s flagship station. Dave Logan (play-by-play) will be in his 18th full season calling games for the club while former Broncos wide receiver Ed McCaffrey (color commentary) will take part in his third full season providing on-air analysis.
The FM home of the Broncos, 103.5 The Fox, will simulcast games for the second consecutive year along with the more than 60 Broncos Radio Network affiliates located throughout the West.
KUSA-TV (9News), the club’s partner TV station, will televise all of Denver’s preseason games locally for the fourth consecutive year.
The remaining dates and times for Denver’s preseason schedule will be announced later this month in coordination with the NFL’s release of the Broncos’ 2014 regular-season schedule.
