COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Chris Lesnansky was named Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the second time this season after leading Colorado College to victories at Southwestern University and Trinity University last weekend.
Lesnansky averaged 18.5 points and 8.5 rebounds per game to help the Tigers take over sole possession of first place atop the conference standings.
The sophomore forward poured in a game-high 19 points and grabbed eight rebounds during Friday’s 57-50 triumph at Southwestern. He made five of eight field-goal attempts (.625) and sealed the victory by making four consecutive free throws in the final 35 seconds.
In Sunday’s 68-66 come-from-behind victory at Trinity, Lesnansky recorded a team-high 18 points and a game-high nine rebounds.
The Denver product leads the league with a .531 field-goal percentage. He also ranks third in points (16.8) and fifth in rebounds (6.7) per contest.
The weekly award is the second of his career.
Colorado College (6-6) plays host to Denver’s Johnson and Wales University on Tuesday night.
