COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Air Force senior Alicia Leipprandt has been named to the 2012-13 Mountain West Women’s Basketball All-Conference Team, announced Monday by the conference office. Leipprandt was tabbed a third-team honoree, earning the fist all-conference accolades of her career.
Leipprandt becomes the 10th Air Force player to be named an All-Mountain West selection, and just the second Falcon to earn a spot on one of the top three teams.
A native of Ubly, Mich., Leipprandt closed out the regular season averaging 13.8 points per game in conference play, ranking third in the league, while also adding 5.1 rebounds per contest. She also finished the conference slate ranked among the top 15 in the Mountain West in free throw percentage, steals and offensive rebounds.
Also this season, Leipprandt became the fourth Division I player in school history to reach 1,000 career points, while also ranking among the program’s career Division I leaders in several other categories, including rebounds, assists and steals.
The Falcons are in action this week, March 12-16 for the 2013 Reese’s Mountain West Championship, being held at the Thomas & Mack Center. Air Force, seeded eighth in the tournament, will take on ninth-seed Nevada in the first round, slated for Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. (PT).
