Colorado Springs, May 21----------Fans of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb will have a special opportunity to meet the drivers and racers with their autos and bikes on a very close, personal basis as Race Week opens on Monday, June 24.
It’s the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb Tech Inspection day, presented by Scion, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the parking lot of the Colorado Springs World Arena.
It’s free to the public and families, and every driver and racer will be on hand with their autos and motorcycles as they go through inspection, giving fans the chance to see the vehicles and bikes and meet the competitors, who will pose for pictures and sign autographs.
Race tickets and special PPIHC merchandise and apparel will be on sale at Tech Inspection at the World Arena.
Food and drinks will be available for breakfast (8:00-10:00) and Lunch (11:00-2:00) for the fans on hand for the event as well.
From 11:00 to 1:00, those fans can take a ride around a special autocross course in a Scion FR-S and enjoy the thrills of riding in the passenger seat of the swift automobile.
Team Scion has three entries in the Time Attack Division for the race on Sunday, June 30- Takeshi Aizawa of Japan (Scion tC), Andrew Comrie-Picard (Scion xD), and Robert Walker (Scion FR-S).
Every driver and racer must first register, then go through tech inspection before being allowed to take part in daily practices on Pikes Peak from 5:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
