DENVER (AP) -- Newly acquired forward Steve Downie could make his debut with the Colorado Avalanche on Wednesday night as the Avalanche try to complete their first season sweep of the Los Angeles Kings in nearly two decades.
The Avalanche acquired Downie from the Tampa Bay Lightning as part of a three-team deal on Tuesday. Avalanche defenseman Kyle Quincey ended up in Detroit under the deal.
Downie had 12 goals and 28 points, along with a team-high 121 penalty minutes in 55 games for the Lightning this season.
