CENTERVILLE, Mass. – Air Force senior Mike Crampton has been named the ECAC Lacrosse League Offensive Player of the Week, as released by the league today. It marks the second weekly award for Crampton this season and the third of his career.
Crampton, a native of Kinnelon, N.J., led Air Force’s offense in its 10-8 win over Binghamton on Sunday, with a hand in seven of the Falcons’ 10 goals on the afternoon. He finished with four goals and three assists, with his seven points matching a season high. Crampton notched three goals and two assists in the first half alone, as Air Force took a 6-4 lead at the intermission. Meanwhile, he scored an assist on the Falcons’ game-winner late in the fourth quarter and added an insurance goal with 1:06 remaining to seal Air Force’s victory.
Other ECAC honorees this week included Fairfield’s Jack Murphy, who was tabbed the defensive player of the week, and Ohio State’s Jake Withers and Nick Doyle, who were named the specialist of the week and rookie of the week, respectively.
Air Force is back at home this Saturday, March 29, for an ECAC match-up versus Michigan at 1:00 p.m.
