COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Ryan Milne was named co-Player of the Week by the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference after leading Colorado College to a pair of road victories during last weekend’s Quality Inn Oakwood Classic at Whitworth University.

Milne averaged 21.5 points, 5.5 assists and 4.5 rebounds per game, and was named tournament MVP.

During Friday’s 92-90 overtime triumph against the University of Puget Sound, the senior point guard scored six of his team-high 25 points in the extra session to help lift CC past the Loggers. He also dished out seven assists and grabbed seven rebounds.

Milne, a native of Phoenix, Ariz., scored 18 points in Saturday’s 65-60 win over the 12th-ranked Pirates, four of which came on free throws during the final 16 seconds to seal the victory. He added four assists and three rebounds as Colorado College opened a season with back-to-back victories for the first time since 2009.

With 11 assists last weekend, Milne climbed into third place on the program’s all-time list with 354. He needs only 22 more to move past Eric Walker’s second-place total of 375.

Milne also climbed two slots on CC’s career scoring chart and now ranks 12th with 1,138 points.

The SCAC weekly award is the seventh of his career.

Colorado College plays its first home games of the 2013-14 campaign when Carleton College and Whitworth visit Reid Arena on Friday and Sunday, respectively.
