CSU's Dorian Green named Mountain West Player of the Week

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Colorado State senior guard Dorian Green earned his first-career Mountain West Player of the Week award on Monday, after leading the Rams to back-to-back wins over in-state rival Air Force and then-No. 23-ranked UNLV.
With the pair of victories, Green helped the Rams tie and subsequently set a school record with their 23rd and 24th consecutive home victories. The Rams’ streak ranks as the fourth-longest active streak in the nation.
In Wednesday’s 79-40 win over the Falcons, the Lawrence, Kan., native facilitated the Rams' offense with seven assists to two turnovers, adding five points, three rebounds and one steal in 29 minutes of play. The 39-point margin of victory was Colorado State’s largest ever against a Mountain West opponent.
On Saturday against the Runnin’ Rebels, Green recorded a game-high 24 points, going 6-of-13 from the field, including 4-of-8 from 3-point range, and 8-of-8 from the charity stripe in the 66-61 victory. He also had five rebounds, five assists and one steal with just two turnovers in 37 minutes of action. Green converted all eight of his free throws in the final 4:22 of the game, twice pulling the Rams even with the Rebels before putting them on top for good with 2:52 left to play.
For the week, Green averaged 14.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 6.0 assists per game, while adding two steals and hitting 8-of-19 (.421) from the field, 5-of-12 (.417) from beyond the arc, and 8-of-8 (1.000) from the free-throw line.
Green and the Rams (15-3, 2-1 MW), who sit at No. 2 in the Mountain West standings, travel to face undefeated conference leader, No. 15/17 New Mexico (16-2, 3-0), on Wednesday night at The Pit in Albuquerque, N.M. The game will be televised live on CBS Sports Network, with tipoff set for 6 p.m. MT.
