LEXINGTON, Ky. - After beginning the 2013 season with a pair of convincing wins against Baylor and Cal Poly, the Colorado State volleyball program is moving up in the AVCA Division I Coaches Top 25 Poll, earning 50 total points in this week's poll, good for the sixth-most among those in the `Receiving Votes' category (31st overall).

In the preseason poll, released Aug. 12, CSU received 15 total points, which ranked 38th nationally. Among 2013 opponents, Texas A&M, which CSU will host on Sept. 21, is receiving 17 points (39th), and Pepperdine is receiving 11 points (40th). The Rams travel to Malibu, Calif., to play in the Pepperdine Invitational this weekend.

There were plenty of shifts in the opening weekend, as 14 teams from the preseason top-25 poll lost at least once, including top-ranked Texas. Penn State has moved into the top position, receiving 50 of the 60 first-place votes, followed by Stanford, USC, Minnesota and Washington.

The Rams return to the court Tuesday to face intrastate rival Northern Colorado. Both the Rams and Bears defeated Baylor and Cal Poly over the weekend. Tickets can be purchased here. As always, students get in free, but beginning Tuesday, they must reserve a ticket online, print it, and bring it and a valid student ID to Moby Arena the night of the match.
