PUEBLO, Colo. (GoThunderWolves.com - Feb. 21, 2013) - CSU-Pueblo's 2013 schedule has been released, which includes five home games, a road date at Northern Colorado, and a highly-anticipated game at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
CSU-Pueblo will begin its schedule on the road against Division I foe, Northern Colorado, in Greeley, Colo. Sept. 7. The game will mark the ThunderWolves' first meeting with the Bears since 1976 and the 14th meeting in school history. Both were previously members of the Great Plains Athletic Conference from 1969-75, and played annually from 1964-1976. In 13 previous meetings, CSU-Pueblo has never defeated Northern Colorado.
On Sept. 14, CSU-Pueblo will play in an NFL stadium for the first time in school history, squaring off with Angelo State in an in-region battle at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas in a Saturday night game. The game is part of the Lone Star Conference Football Festival, which features three straight days of football at Cowboys Stadium, featuring members of the Lone Star Conference and selected teams from outside conferences.
For both the Northern Colorado and Angelo State games, CSU-Pueblo has indicated it will organize special fan/booster trips to each game. Details will be released at a later date.
The ThunderWolves will begin its home and RMAC schedule on Saturday, Sept. 21 when it hosts Western New Mexico at the Neta & Eddie DeRose ThunderBowl at 2 p.m. The game will be a "Red Out" and kick off the Pack's five-game home schedule.
CSU-Pueblo will also feature home games against Fort Lewis (Oct. 5), Colorado School of Mines (Oct. 19), Colorado Mesa (Nov. 2) and Western State (Nov. 16). The Oct. 5 game with Fort Lewis is slated as the ThunderWolves' homecoming game.
