PUEBLO, Colo. (GoThunderWolves.com - Nov. 17, 2012) - Top-ranked CSU-Pueblo will play host to 18th-ranked University of Indianapolis in the second round of the NCAA Division II Playoffs following Indianapolis' first-round win over Midwestern State.
The Greyhounds, the fourth seed in the Super Region 4 bracket, hosted 8th-ranked Midwestern State, co-champions of the Lone Star Conference, and defeated the Mustangs 31-14 in its first ever playoff game.
Indianapolis, the winners of the Great Lakes Valley Conference championship, will come to CSU-Pueblo loaded with weapons, including quarterback Chris Mills, the eighth most efficient passer in the nation, and all-purpose threat, Klay Fiechter, who has run for 1,473 yards this season and 18 touchdowns. He is also the nation's second-best punt returner and is ranked third in the nation in all-purpose yards.
The Greyhounds are a top 10 defense, as well, allowing just 284 yards per game and 17.5 points per game. They are led by two linebackers that hover near the century mark in tackles (Max Davis and Todd Hacker) and boast the fourth-best pass defense in the nation, giving up just 156 yards through the air per game.
Kickoff is scheduled for Saturday at noon at the Neta & Eddie DeRose ThunderBowl in Pueblo.
