CSU-Pueblo football moves up to third in the nation

WACO, Texas (GoThunderWolves.com - Oct. 14, 2013) - With two losses in the top five this weekend by top-ranked Valdosta State and fourth-ranked West Texas A&M, CSU-Pueblo inched up to the third spot nationally in the latest AFCA Division II football poll, released Monday.
CSU-Pueblo, which had been ranked 5th in the nation for each of the past five weeks, rose to the third-spot by virtue of its 51-42 win over then-19th-ranked Chadron State as well as the two top-five losses.
With the ranking, the ThunderWolves have now been ranked in the AFCA top ten for each of the past 26 weeks, easily the top streak in all of NCAA Division II. The ThunderWolves have now won 32 straight regular season games and 26 straight Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference games. It will try to equal the RMAC winning streak record (held by Chadron State from 2006-09) this Saturday when it hosts Colorado School of Mines at the Neta & Eddie DeRose ThunderBowl.
