CANYON, Texas (GoThunderWolves.com - Feb. 10, 2013) - CSU-Pueblo fell 9-2 to West Texas A&M Sunday, closing out its opening weekend series by losing three of four.

The game was defined by a tough first inning for the ThunderWolves, giving up five runs to the Buffs as five of the first six batters reached base, headlined by a Tyler McKnight grand slam.

Offensively, the ThunderWolves could muster just eight hits in the nine-inning contest, with leadoff hitter Cameron Hart (Sr., Los Angeles, Calif.) going 2-for-5 and catcher Wade Beauvais (Sr., Pueblo, Colo.) going 2-for-3 from the eight-hole.

Despite the down weekend losing three of four, CSU-Pueblo hit a solid .307 as a team, boasting five home runs - currently far and away the top mark in the RMAC.

CSU-Pueblo will take one week off before facing an even tougher Lone Star Conference opponent in two weeks - nationally-ranked Angelo State - as CSU-Pueblo opens its home schedule Thurs., Feb. 21 at Rawlings Field.
