DURANGO, Colo. (GoThunderWolves.com - Feb. 15, 2013) - Despite the second 30-point game of the season for Laurel Kearsley (Sr., Victor, Idaho), CSU-Pueblo couldn't get much else going Friday at Fort Lewis, losing 78-64.
The loss suddenly drops the Pack to fifth place in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference standings, leaving a home playoff game severely in doubt. Despite the loss, however, CSU-Pueblo did clinch a playoff spot Friday.
Kearsley's 30 points, which included 20 in the second half alone, did little to prevent a rough start to the game for the ThunderWolves. Fort Lewis used a 24-8 first half run to go up 28-12 on the Pack and never looked back. From there, CSU-Pueblo would never cut the deficit back from double-digits.
Shooting and rebounding doomed the Pack, being out-shot 49 percent to 37 percent and out-rebounded 45-30. Pack starters not named Kearsley combined to score only 16 points in the contest.
CSU-Pueblo, now 15-6 and losers of two straight regular season games for the first time in three seasons, will now travel to Alamosa to take on Adams State.
