NEW YORK, N.Y. (GoThunderWolves.com - April 27, 2013) - A dream came true Saturday for former CSU-Pueblo offensive lineman Ryan Jensen, who became the first ThunderWolf since 1984 selected in the National Football League Draft, selected in the sixth round by the defending Super Bowl champion Baltimore Ravens, it was announced at the NFL Draft, being held in New York, N.Y.
In doing so, Jensen becomes the fourth CSU-Pueblo football player to be drafted. He joins former ThunderWolves Frank Grant, who was selected in the 13th round of the 1972 NFL Draft by the Washington Redskins, Glen Printers, who was selected in the 13th round of the 1975 NFL Draft by the San Diego Chargers, and Herman Heard, who was selected in the third round of the 1984 NFL Draft.
A native of Fort Morgan, Colo., Jensen arrived on the ThunderWolves in 2009 as a 6-foot-3, 225-pound tackle starting as a true freshman. He has grown - both literally and figuratively - into the most dominant offensive lineman in program history. Now at 6-foot-4 and 317 pounds, he has four years as a starting tackle under his belt, All-American honors in 2011 and 2012, and was a finalist for the Gene Upshaw Award, given to the top Division II lineman.
