CSU-Pueblo Football: Jensen, Dausin to take part in senior bowl games

ALLEN, Texas & VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (GoThunderWolves.com - Jan. 17, 2013) - CSU-Pueblo senior All-American tackle, Ryan Jensen (Sr., Fort Morgan, Colo.), and senior All-American quarterback, Ross Dausin (Sr., San Antonio, Texas), have accepted invitations to play in senior bowl games, with Jensen playing in the "Texas vs. the Nation" game and Dausin playing in the "USA Freedom Bowl."

Jensen, an All-American selection in each of the past two seasons who was a national finalist for the Gene Upshaw Award, honoring Division II's top lineman, will play for "The Nation" in the collegiate all-star game taking place at Eagle Stadium in Allen, Texas Feb. 2. The game, largely played in by Division I players, offers an audition for NFL scouts in attendance.

According to its website, the "Texas vs. the Nation" game is being billed alongside the East/West Shrine Game and the Senior Bowl as the marquee college all-star games in the country. Last year, 93 percent of TVN participants signed NFL contracts and one out of 10 players on NFL rosters are TVN game alumni.
The game will also air nationally on Fox Sports Southwest. For more information on the game, visit www.texasvsthenation.com.

Dausin's audition for the pros at the "USA Freedom Bowl" will take place Jan. 21 at the Beach Sportsplex in Virginia Beach, Va. After boasting a 32-4 record in his three years as starting quarterback at CSU-Pueblo, Dausin has received an invite to the game that carries on the tradition of previous Division II All-Star games, including the most recent incarnation, the Cactus Bowl. The USA Freedom Bowl consists of rosters of Division II and Division I-AA squads. For more information, visit www.usafreedombowl.com.

The duo's invite marks the second and third time since the CSU-Pueblo football program was reintroduced in 2008 that CSU-Pueblo seniors have been asked to participate in a postseason bowl for seniors. Previously, in 2009, All-American defensive end Chase Vaughn received an invite to the Cactus Bowl, the precursor to the USA Senior Bowl.
