COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (GoThunderWolves.com - April 23, 2013) - CSU-Pueblo has swept the RMAC Player of the Week honors as Jeremiah Struble (Sr., Divide, Colo.) secured RMAC Pitcher of the Week honors and Cameron Buckles (Jr., Parker, Colo.) claimed RMAC Player of the Week honors.
Struble won his third start in the past four appearances, allowing just five hits - his second lowest total allowed in a game this season. His nine strikeouts matched a season-best as the ThunderWolves defeated Metro State 10-1.
Buckles had the most productive weekend of his career, going 8-for-13 over four games, hitting .615 and driving in five runs. He finished a home run short of the cycle Sunday in an 11-2 win over Metro State.
The dual honors marks the first time in over three years that the ThunderWolves have swept the RMAC's Player of the Week awards. On March 9, 2010, pitcher Joaquin Montano and shortstop Mark Sayas claimed the honors.
The award also marks the second Pitcher of the Week award for Struble this season (he previously earned the honor Feb. 12) and the second straight pitcher of the week honor for a ThunderWolf pitcher (Mike Fabrizio earned the honor last week).
Struble, Buckles, and the rest of the ThunderWolves have New Mexico Highlands on tap this weekend as the Pack will look to vault itself into first place in the RMAC Plains Division.
