FORT COLLINS, Colo.—The Colorado State football team will take its spring preparations to the Denver area on Saturday, April 12, when they hold an open practice and scrimmage at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City (6000 Victory Way). The practice is scheduled to run from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and admission is free.
The April 12 event and fan experience replaces the previously-announced April 11 open practice that had been scheduled for Infinity Park of Glendale. The Dick’s Sporting Goods Park event will be the 11th of CSU’s 15 spring practices. Spring ball begins Tuesday, March 25 at CSU’s on-campus practice fields and will conclude with the annual Green and Gold Spring Game on Saturday, April 19, at 11 a.m. at Sonny Lubick Field at Hughes Stadium, also with free admission.
The practice and scrimmage at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park on April 12 will give Rams fans an excellent opportunity to see how their favorite team is taking shape for the 2014 season. The event will include a number of other fan-friendly elements for the whole family, including:

Rams fans also won’t want to miss the April 19 Green and Gold Spring Game. The event will begin at 11 a.m. at Hughes Stadium and run until approximately 1 p.m., with players available for autographs afterwards. The spring game will provide fans with an up-close look at their team in game situations as they receive one final on-field tune-up before preseason camp begins in August.
The spring game also will feature CSU’s cheer and pom squads, an appearance by Cam the Ram and opportunities to purchase season tickets.
The Rams, under third-year head coach Jim McElwain, are coming off their most successful season in more than a decade with 8 wins, including a victory in the 2013 Gildan New Mexico Bowl over Pac-12 opponent Washington State.
Eleven starters return for the Rams, including five who received All-Mountain West consideration in 2013. Starting quarterbackGarrett Grayson also returns after passing for more yards than any Ram in history in 2013 (3,696), guiding an offense that set school records for total yards and points.
