A fast start and dramatic game-tying goal late in regulation weren't quite enough for Colorado College on Saturday.

The Tigers forced overtime on Archie Skalbeck's tally at 18:57 of the third period, only to see the No. 15-ranked University of Wisconsin ultimately get the bounce it needed for a 4-3 sudden-death victory at the Kohl Center in Madison, Wis.

Senior forward Tyler Barnes scored on a centering attempt from behind the goal line at 1:41 of the extra session, ruining CC's comeback bid and giving the Badgers a sweep of their two-game non-conference series.

Colorado College, which held a 2-0 cushion after 20 minutes of play on first-period goals by Jeff Collett just 54 seconds in and Sam Rothstein at 12:43, dropped to 2-12-3 overall for the season.

Wisconsin improved to 8-5-1.

UW struck for three goals in a span of 5:38 early in the second period to wipe out the early deficit. The Badgers protected the 3-2 lead until Skalbeck pounced on defenseman Ian Young's rebound to knot the score with senior goalie Josh Thorimbert on the bench in favor of a sixth attacker. Freshman winger Alex Roos also earned an assist on the senior's third red lighter of the season.

Thorimbert, who made his 17th consecutive start for CC, finished with 24 saves in a penalty-free game in which the Tigers out-shot Wisconsin by a 29-28 margin.

Eight different Colorado College players picked up a point apiece in the loss.

Junior forward Brad Navin, who clicked for UW's first goal at 2:01 of the middle period, also collected a pair of assists including one on the game winner by Barnes.

CC is idle until playing host to Brown University at the World Arena on Saturday, Jan. 4.
