ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The Denver Broncos on Wednesday signed tight end Gerell Robinson, it was announced.
Robinson (6-foot-4, 220 pounds) spent the 2013 season on Denver’s practice squad a year after competing as a wide receiver on Arizona’s practice squad.
He was signed by the Broncos as a college free agent in 2012 after totaling 135 receptions for 2,071 yards (15.3 avg.) with 12 touchdowns during his college career at Arizona State University, where he teamed with Broncos quarterback Brock Osweiler to catch 77 passes for 1,397 yards (18.1 avg.) and seven scores as a senior.
A second-team All-USA pick by USA Today following his senior prep campaign at Hamilton High School in Chandler, Ariz., he was born on Oct. 13, 1989.
