ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The Denver Broncos on Sunday released running back Jacob Hester, it was announced.
Hester (5-11, 225 pounds) is a sixth-year player who joined the Broncos as a free agent on Nov. 26, 2012, and saw action in three regular-season games and one playoff contests for the club last year.
He came to Denver after spending his first four NFL seasons with San Diego, playing in 62 regular-season games (23 starts) and three postseason games (1 starts).
His career totals include 111 rushes for 400 yards (3.6 avg.) with three touchdowns, 55 receptions for 308 yards with three scores and 36 special-teams tackles.
Drafted by the Chargers in the third round (69th overall) of the 2008 NFL Draft from Louisiana State University, Hester attended Evangel Christian High School in Shreveport, La., and was born on May 8, 1985.
