The National Hockey League announced today the cancellation of the 2012 preseason schedule through Sept. 30. In addition, the 2012 Kraft Hockeyville preseason game, scheduled for Oct. 3 in Belleville, Ontario, has been postponed to 2013.
The cancellation of the schedule was necessary because of the absence of a Collective Bargaining Agreement between the NHL Players' Association and the NHL.
This announcement includes the cancellation of the Avalanche's Burgundy/White Game on Monday, Sept. 24, at the Academy's Cadet Ice Arena.
Fans that have already purchased tickets to the Burgundy/White Game have three options: 1. Fans can request a full refund from the Air Force Athletic Ticket Office at (719) 472-1895 or 1-800-666-USAF; 2. Tickets can be exchanged for an Air Force hockey regular season game (based on availability) at the Air Force Athletic Ticket Office 3.Fans can hold on to their tickets until the end of the NHL work stoppage and then can exchange those tickets at the Pepsi Center Box Office for another Avalanche preseason or regular season game.
