USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Air Force women’s soccer dropped a 1-0 match to Drexel Sunday afternoon at the Cadet Soccer Stadium. The loss drops the Falcons to 1-6-1 and improved the Dragons to 4-4-1.
Drexel scored the game-winning goal in the 64th minute. Colleen McDonald took a pass from Shyanne Kimbrough and scored from 15 yards out, head-on to the top of the net.
The loss featured several near-misses by the Falcons, who had 13 shots in the match. Air Force had two shots hit the cross bar in near-scoring opportunities.
Senior forward Megan Dozier led the Falcons with four shots, three on goal. Freshman Kristina O’Sullivan added four shots. Senior goalkeeper Kelly Stambaugh had six saves.
Air Force wraps-up non-conference play and opens its Mountain West slate on Friday, Sept. 27 at Colorado State. Kickoff in Fort Collins is at 4 p.m.
