USAF ACADEMY, Colo. – Featuring the first-ever Mountain West Cross Country Championship meet held at the Academy, the Air Force cross country team announced its schedule for the upcoming 2013 season this afternoon. The Falcons will compete in four regular season competitions, as they prepare for the conference, regional and national championship meets.
Air Force opens the 2013 campaign on Friday, Sept. 6, when it travels to Fort Collins, Colo., for the Colorado State Open. Following the 28th-annual Rocky Mountain Shootout in Boulder, Colo., on Saturday, Sept. 28, Air Force will travel to South Bend, Ind., for the Notre Dame Invitational on Friday, Oct. 10. The Falcons close out the regular season on Saturday, Oct. 19, when they travel to Madison, Wis., for the fifth-annual Wisconsin/adidas Invitational.
The championship season begins for the Falcons on Friday, Nov. 1, when they host the Mountain West Cross Country Championships at the Academy’s Eisenhower Golf Course. Air Force will then travel to Riverdale, Utah, for the NCAA Mountain Region Championships on Friday, Nov. 15. The top teams and individuals from the regional site will advance to the NCAA Cross Country Championships, which concludes the 2013 season on Saturday, Nov. 23, in Terre Haute, Ind.
