RENO, Nev. - Air Force baseball dropped a 7-1 ballgame at Nevada Sunday afternoon at Peccole Park. The Falcons dropped to 4-18, 1-8 on the season and the Wolf Pack improved to 12-11, 6-6.
Nevada broke up 1-1 tie with a four-run fourth inning. The Wolf pack tacked on two runs in the eighth to pull away.
After Nevada scored a run in the second to take an early lead, the Falcons tied the game up with a run in the top of the fourth inning.
Air Force had seven hits in the game. Shortstop Russell Williams went 2-for-4 with RBI to lead the way. Left fielder Tyler Jones added a double and scored the run. Center fielder David Thomas added a triple.
Bo Wilson (0-2) pitched 7.1 innings in the start, striking out a career-high six batters. Ben Yokley spelled Wilson in relief and got the last two outs in the eighth.
Nevada had nine hits in the game. Right fielder Brad Gerig went 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles and three RBIs to lead the Wolf Pack. Starting pitcher Tyler Wells (1-3) pitched seven innings, allowing six hits while striking out four.
The Falcons continue their Spring Break with a two-game road trip to Sacramento State. Game one is Tuesday at 6:30 pm.
