Rockies 2 Padres 1, 14 innings
Brad Hawpe's 14th-inning homer gave Colorado a 2-1 win at San Diego and pulled the Rockies within three and a-half games of the wild-card lead.
The Padres had their seven-game winning streak snapped and dropped one and a-half games behind first-place Arizona in the NL West race.
San Diego's lead in the wild card was trimmed to one and a-half games over Philadelphia. The Padres tied the game in the bottom of the ninth on a home run by Adrian Gonzalez.
Matt Herges pitched the final two innings for the win while Joe Thatcher got tagged with the loss.
Colorado's 82nd win clinched their first winning season since 2000.
