Air Force junior kicker/punter Ryan Harrison was named one of three Stars of the Week by the Lou Groza Collegiate Place Kicker Award committee.
Harrison not only kicked the longest field goal of the 2007 college football season, a 57-yarder, but his 33 yard overtime field goal gave the Falcons a 20-17 victory over TCU, Sept. 13. Harrison’s 57-yarder is a career long and the sixth-longest in school history. The Keller, Texas, native also punted seven times for a 46.6 average. In the third quarter, he punted three times from inside his own 10-yard line and hit kicks of 45, 61, and 47. His 61-yarder was a career long. He also kicked off four times with two touchbacks.

The 2007 winner of the Lou Groza Collegiate Place-Kicker Award is presented by the FedEx Orange Bowl and will be announced on Thursday, December 6, 2007 during the ESPN Home Depot College Football Award Show in Orlando, Florida. The top three finalists for the Lou Groza Collegiate Place-Kicker Award are honored during the Lou Groza Collegiate Place-Kicker Award Banquet and Silent Auction on Tuesday, December 4, 2007. This is an event of the Palm Beach County Sports Institute.
All Division I-A kickers are eligible for the Award named for NFL Hall of Fame Kicker Lou "The Toe" Groza. Voters for the award include Division I-A head coaches, sports writers and sportscasters, conference representatives, professional kickers, and previous Groza Award finalists.
