Arizona State coach Dennis Erickson saw plenty of good things in his Sun Devil debut -- a 45-3 rout of overmatched San Jose State.

Now he wants to see improvement when ASU plays host to Colorado tomorrow. It's the second meeting between the schools. Erickson says ASU is facing what he considers a better team this week.

The Buffaloes are coming off a 31-28 overtime victory over Colorado State last week. But Colorado is also coming off a 2-10 season -- including a 21-3 drubbing by ASU in Boulder last year in coach Dan Hawkins' first season.

Hawkins' son, redshirt freshman quarterback Cody Hawkins, had a solid debut against Colorado State. He led 11 drives, six of which ended in scores.

Hawkins calls his son's performance mixed -- he missed a few throws.
