The Broncos defense is still struggling with losing Al Wilson.
The middle linebacker was waived in the offseason because of an injured neck and high salary, and D.J. Williams has been slow to adjust to moving from strong side to Wilson's old position.
Williams has made just three tackles in two exhibition games, and the Broncos' front-line defense has allowed four touchdowns and two field goals in nine possessions against San Francisco and Dallas.
New defensive coordinator Jim Bates says the team isn't adjusting to his new scheme as fast as he'd hoped. The defense also has had a bevy of injuries.
Coach Mike Shanahan says Saturday's exhibition game against Cleveland will be a better barometer of his team.
