DENVER (AP) -- Freddy Sanchez singled in the go-ahead run in the 11th inning and the Pittsburgh Pirates beat the struggling Colorado Rockies 4-2. The Rockies have lost five of seven and take on the Pirates again today.
Cesar Izturis drew a leadoff walk off Brian Fuentes, who fell to 0-and-5 with the loss. After a sacrifice and a hit batsman, Sanchez blooped an RBI single to short center field.
The Pirates added an insurance run when third baseman Garrett Atkins threw wildly on Adam LaRoche's two-out grounder, allowing another run to score.
Damaso Marte is 2-and-0 with the win in relief. Matt Capps pitched a perfect 11th for his 12th save in 14 opportunities.
