DENVER (AP) -- The Broncos return from Texas in a world of hurt.

They lost starting defensive end Ebenezer Ekuban for the season to a torn Achilles' tendon in a preseason loss last night to Dallas, and running back Travis Henry suffered a sprained left knee that might keep him out until the season opener.

Right tackle Adam Meadows, rookie defensive end Tim Crowder, left guard Ben Hamilton, left tackle Ryan Harris and right tackle Jacob Rogers were all ailing even before the game yesterday.

Meanwhile the Broncos' first-string defense has allowed four touchdowns and two field goals so far. Cornerback Champ Bailey says the team expects to get better.
