The day after a disappointing preseason loss to the Cowboys, the Broncos know the severity of the injuries suffered in the game.

The bad news, defensive end Ebenezer Ekuban suffered a season-ending torn Achilles' tendon. Ekuban going down is a big blow for the defensive line and may affect the future of defensive tackle Gerrard Warren.

"It's a shame to lose Ebenezer for the year," coach Mike Shanahan said. "He's been a real leader for us."

The news was much better for running back Travis Henry. Henry sprained his left knee loss, but an MRI on Monday showed no structural damage. Its being called a first degree MCL sprain. Mike Shanahan says he expects him to be ready to go on Saturday against the Browns.

Henry ran for 25 yards on 10 carries and lost a fumble on Denver's 7. He gained a yard on first-and-goal from the 3 on the play he was injured. Henry later walked to the locker room with an ice pack on his knee.

Backup running back Mike Bell strained his left hip and backup safety Curome Cox strained his right shoulder. Shanahan called those "bumps and bruises."
