COLORADO SPRINGS - Luke Hochevar has come home.
The Fowler, Colorado native is currently playing Triple-A baseball with the Omaha Royals, who is in town for a four-game series with the Sky Sox through Tuesday, July 31st.
Hochevar is scheduled to pitch for Omaha in the series finale' on Tuesday.
Hochevar was the first-overall pick in the 2006 Major League Baseball Draft out of the University of Tennessee. He became the first Coloradan to be selected first in the draft.
In 2007, he has pitched in Double-A, Wichita for most of the season but got the call up to Omaha earlier this month. He is 1-1 with an ERA if 3.94 so far with the O-Royals.
Hochevar graduated from Fowler High School in 2003. The three-time All-State selection posted a 1.19 ERA with 97 strikeouts in 47 innings as a senior while slugging 13 home runs with a .622 average and 38 RBI .
