DENVER (AP) - The Denver Broncos gathered Sunday morning for the start of training camp at Dove Valley.
The Broncos are the last team in the league to report to camp because they open the preseason on a Monday night. NFL rules require teams hold their first workouts no sooner than 15 days before their first exhibition game.
Among those on the sideline Sunday were wide receivers Rod Smith and Brandon Marshall. Smith is recovering from hip surgery and there is no timetable for his return.
Marshall, who is expected to unseat Smith as the team's number two receiver, is still bothered by a strained thigh muscle.
Marshall said he figures to sit out up to a week-and-a-half as a precaution.
