DENVER (AP) -- Adrian Gonzalez doubled home the go-ahead run in the eighth and the San Diego Padres snapped a four-game skid with a 5-to-3 win over Colorado.

The Padres lost All-Star right-hander Chris Young to a strained abdominal muscle after two innings and their bullpen blew a late lead.

Heath Bell is 4-and-2 with the win in relief. Trevor Hoffman pitched a perfect ninth for his 28th save in 30 chances.
