PHILADELPHIA (AP) - The Philadelphia 76ers have signed a pair of first-round draft picks, inking 7-footer Jason Smith and 12th overall pick Thaddeus Young.
Smith is the 21-year-old forward from Kersey, Colorado who played three seasons at Colorado State.
He averaged 16.8 points and 10.2 rebounds per game during his junior year.
Smith opted out of his senior season at CSU to enter the June 28th NBA Draft, and was selected in the first round - 20th overall - by the Miami Heat.
The Heat then dealt him to the Sixers for Ohio State guard Daequan Cook, a 2009 second-round pick and cash.
Young is 6 foot 8 inches, and entered the draft after averaging 14.4 points a game as a freshman at Georgia Tech.
