DENVER (AP) -- Nine-year NFL receiver Brandon Stokley is getting ready for training camp.
Today Stokley returned to the field for the Denver Broncos' minicamp and tested his right Achilles' tendon. He ruptured it last November, leading to his offseason release from the Indianapolis Colts.
Stokley says he hopes to be practicing in pads by the time the Broncos start up July 29th.
Stokley spent the last four seasons in Indianapolis and says Denver QB Jay Cutler reminds him a bit of Peyton Manning.
With the Broncos all-time receptions leader Rod Smith recovering from left hip surgery, the Broncos expect second-year pro Brandon Marshall to start alongside Javon Walker. But the Number Three spot is wide open and Stokley hopes to fill it.
